Legendary quarterback Tom Brady is putting his valuable watch collection up for sale.
This December, Sotheby's will auction off Tom Brady's seven-time Super Bowl champion collection.
The watches are priced between $12,000 and $800,000, featuring a Patek Philippe, Rolex, IWC, and a custom Audemars Piguet timepiece.
"I've been fortunate to have an amazing career journey, and these watches and collectibles capture those unforgettable moments and the hard work behind them," Brady said in a statement. "I'm excited to give fans and collectors a chance to own and cherish these special pieces from my journey just like I have."
In high school, Brady's love for timepieces started when his parents presented him with a watch as a graduation present.
Richard Lopez, Sotheby's senior specialist of luxury watches, has devoted himself to understanding the intricacies of watches and has curated a world-class assortment of exquisite timepieces that reflects his deep passion for collecting, just as he mastered the language of football.
Brady's watch collection started to grow significantly after his first Super Bowl in 2002, as he began acquiring timepieces to commemorate his major achievements.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak with white gold and diamond-set flying tourbillon, worn by Brady during his "Greatest Roast of All Time," is expected to sell for between $400,000 and $800,000.
The Richard Mille 35-03 "Baby Nadal" blue quartz-encased timepiece, which he will also be parting with, could fetch up to $500,000.
Brady owns a rose gold Patek Philippe Nautilus and an IWC Pilot's Watch Top Gun edition "SFTI" model, which he wore during his last Super Bowl Championship parade in 2021.
Sotheby's head of modern collectables, Brahm Wachter, stated that the collection is truly unparalleled, with stories, authenticity, and historical significance that make these items genuine pieces of sports history.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for luxury watches increased significantly. However, since then, prices have decreased significantly.
In 2024, total watch sales increased by 6% to reach $493 million, according to EveryWatch, the world's largest watch market database.
According to EveryWatch, the major auction houses have increased their watch lots by 50% over the previous year, and they are also investing more in watches.
