Qatar Airways has surpassed Emirates as the best airline in the world, according to Skytrax.

Since 2011, Qatar Airways has been ranked first eight times. Last year, they came in second place.

Skytrax announced Monday that Singapore Airlines has moved into second place on the ranking, with Emirates in third place, one spot higher than last year.

No U.S. airlines made it to the top ten, with Delta Air Lines being the highest ranked American airline in 21st position, a decline from its previous year's ranking.

Skytrax presented a series of awards in addition to the top airlines ranking based on a customer survey completed by customers from over 100 countries in the 2023-2024 edition. These awards included regional breakdowns and honors for various types of flights.

Qatar Airways was voted the world's best business class and top airline in the Middle East, while Singapore Airlines was ranked the best in the world for cabin crew, first class, and best airline in Asia.

AirAsia was ranked the best low-cost airline for short-haul flights, while Scoot was named the best low-cost airline for long-haul flights.

The top five airlines in North America, excluding the U.S., are based in Canada, with Air Canada, United Airlines, Porter Airlines, and Air Transat ranking highest.
