McDonald's Introduces $5 Value Meal for a Limited Time in June
  • The $5 value meal at McDonald's will be available for approximately a month, starting from June 25.
  • The meal will consist of a McChicken or McDouble, four chicken nuggets, fries, and a beverage.
  • The promotion, lasting a month, coincides with a predicted decrease in consumer demand for restaurants.

For a limited time, the meal is set to offer a $5 value in the U.S.

The promotion will consist of four items for $5, including a McChicken or McDouble, four-piece chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink, and will last approximately one month, starting on June 25, according to a source.

McDonald's has always valued its customers and communicates this through national advertising, which has been true since the beginning and is even more important today, as stated in a CNBC report.

Last week, CNBC reported that the fast food giant was working on introducing a value menu item, but the initial proposal did not pass the necessary hurdles.

Coca-Cola partnered with customers on marketing programs to meet consumer needs, which helped grow their businesses together, CNBC reported Friday.

Financial terms of that partnership were not disclosed.

The promotion, lasting a month, coincides with a predicted decrease in consumer demand for restaurants.

McDonald's reported a mixed first quarter, with U.S. same-store sales slightly below expectations. Despite higher prices, average checks grew due to some consumers pulling back as a result of the steeper costs.

On the company's earnings call on April 30, CEO Chris Kempczinski stated that consumers are becoming increasingly discriminating with their spending, putting pressure on the quick-service restaurant industry due to elevated prices in their daily lives.

To attract diners, McDonald's must be "laser-focused" on affordability, he stated.

McDonald's has always been known for its great value and affordability, and now all three legs of the stool are coming together to deliver that at a time when customers need it the most. This is the power and promise of the Golden Arches, as John Palmaccio, McDonald's owner and operator and chair of the Operators National Advertising Fund, stated in a CNBC interview about the $5 promotion.
