May 2025 marks the launch of Universal's Epic Universe theme park.
  • On May 22, 2025, Universal's Epic Universe theme park will be unveiled.
  • The park covers 750 acres and includes five themed areas: Harry Potter's Wizarding World - Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, Celestial Park, and Dark Universe.
  • Epic Universe is the company's fourth theme park.

The Epic Universe theme park will open on May 22, 2025, in Orlando, Florida.

The fourth theme park owned by the company is Epic Universe, which covers 750 acres and is the largest of all its properties. It features five themed worlds: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – The Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – The Isle of Berk, Celestial Park and Dark Universe.

In 2019, Comcast's NBCUniversal made its largest investment in its theme parks business and in Florida with the first announcement of Epic Universe.

Construction was temporarily stopped in July 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but resumed in March 2021.

Universal Studios can now turn its two-park resort into a weeklong travel destination with the addition of Epic Universe to its catalog of Orlando-based amusements. The company also operates Volcano Bay, a water park located a mile away from the Universal Studios parks.

"Epic Universe, a new theme park, is set to open next year at Universal Orlando Resort. This momentous occasion marks a significant milestone for our destination, and we are excited to welcome guests to this incredible vacation experience. With a week full of thrilling attractions, guests will be in for an unforgettable adventure that will truly be epic."

The Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a 500-room property, will serve as the anchor for Epic Universe and provide hotel guests with a dedicated entrance to the park.

Starting Oct. 22, Universal will introduce multiday tickets and packages, allowing guests to purchase three-, four- or five-day admission to Universal's Orlando Resort and one-day admission to Epic Universe.

Epic Universe single-day tickets will be available for purchase by annual passholders on Oct. 24 before they are made available to the general public. Other ticketing options will be offered at a later time.

Disclosure: Comcast is the parent company of NBCUniversal and CNBC.
