According to data from flight-tracking company Hopper, long-haul trips are currently more affordable than they were last year.
The number of flights between the U.S. and Asia has decreased by 11% this year compared to the previous year, with an average cost of $1,087 and a 6% increase in capacity from 2024. On the other hand, flights to Europe have decreased by 6% to an average cost of $754, according to Hopper data.
The cost of flights to Africa and the Middle East has remained the same as last year, while flights to South America have decreased by 4% to $685, and flights to Mexico and Central America from the U.S. have increased by 9% to $469.
As a result of aircraft delivery delays from Boeing and Airbus, domestic U.S. ticket prices are increasing, with airlines being more cautious about capacity growth in the country.

In the past three years, the cheapest flights to Asia can be found on travel-search sites, with a surge in customer interest, according to Kayak. The cities with the largest percentage increases in searches are Tokyo, Sapporo, and Osaka.
Kayak reported that airfare prices have decreased across the Caribbean, with a 21% reduction in ticket prices to Dominica, and a 17% decrease in ticket prices to Barbados and St. Lucia compared to the previous year.
