Fox Sports has secured a multiyear media rights deal with LIV Golf to broadcast the pro golf tour to U.S. viewers, beginning in February.

The 14-tournament season of the LIV Golf League will be aired on FS1 and other Fox networks, and will also be streamed on the Fox Sports and LIV Golf+ apps. The league features 13 teams of four golfers each, including two-time major champions Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau.

The LIV Golf Tour has appointed Scott O'Neil, the former CEO of Merlin Entertainments and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, as its new CEO, replacing Greg Norman, the tour's first commissioner and CEO, who will remain informally involved with LIV.

"O'Neil stated in a news release that LIV Golf is excited to partner with FOX Sports, a leading broadcast network globally, signaling the next phase of growth for the League as it joins the ranks of the nation's top sports leagues and conferences."

In 2021, LIV Golf was established as a rival to the PGA Tour with the support of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. Notably, it attracted top golfers such as Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson.

Despite reaching an agreement to merge in June 2023, the PGA Tour and LIV Golf have yet to finalize the deal after over 18 months of negotiations.

The CW Network previously broadcasted LIV Golf, but the upstart golf league struggled to attract large audiences.

The league's individual championship in September drew fewer than 90,000 fans, a significant decrease from its opening-day audience. However, it is anticipated that the league's move to Fox will increase its viewership.

In this season, LIV will organize tournaments in nine different countries, starting from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on February 6 and ending with the team championship in the Detroit suburbs in late August.
