Beyoncé is among the celebrities who are using their influence to promote luxury spirits, following a trend among consumers.
As the wine and spirits division of Louis Vuitton grows in the American whiskey market, SirDavis honors Beyoncé's heritage by being named after Davis Hogue, Beyoncé's great-grandfather who hid whiskey bottles as a farmer during Prohibition in the South, according to the release.
"Beyoncé stated, "My love for whisky was fated when I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a moonshine man. SirDavis is a tribute to him, bringing us together through a shared legacy.""
Moët Hennessy's first spirit brand entirely developed in the United States, SirDavis, is crafted and bottled in Texas, and its headquarters is located in Houston, Beyoncé's hometown.
The distiller claims that SirDavis, composed of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, is matured in sherry casks and has a profile of "bold sophistication."
The bronzed horse on the tall bottle is a reference to Beyoncé's recent albums.
Retailing for $89 a bottle, SirDavis will be available in September.
