Oshkosh, a Wisconsin-based company, is a one-stop-shop for purpose-built vehicles such as news vans, mail trucks, garbage trucks, construction lifts, and more, including airport emergency vehicles, tow trucks, concrete mixers, truck-mounted cranes, military vehicles, and others.
Oshkosh utilizes technology for versatile product development to cater to diverse markets, including electrification and automation.
The company produces an electric firetruck called the Volterra and is also electrifying other vehicles in various departments. For instance, Oshkosh has secured a contract to manufacture both battery electric and internal combustion mail delivery vehicles for the US Postal Service. The contract includes the delivery of 50,000 vehicles and 165,000 vehicles over a 10-year period. The postal truck is designed to allow for the retrofitting of internal combustion versions with battery electric technology.
