American Airlines to Launch New Flights from JFK to Miami, Los Angeles, and Dallas
- American Airlines hub cities will be served by Frontier Airlines' new service.
- Frontier said basic New York-Miami fares would start at $19 each way.
- Flights to Miami, Dallas, and Los Angeles commence in March, April, and May, respectively.
Discount carrier is expanding its service in New York by introducing new routes to major hubs with fares starting at under $20.
On March 30, Miami International Airport will be served by a new airline route connecting it to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.
On Frontier's website, a basic ticket for a roundtrip flight from April 1 to April 8 was priced at $38, which did not include a seat assignment or carry-on bag and was non-refundable. Meanwhile, the same trip on American, which included a carry-on bag and a non-alcoholic beverage and snack, was priced at $142.
Miami's airport is primarily controlled by American, despite Frontier having a base in the city.
Starting April 22, Frontier will offer four weekly flights between New York's Kennedy Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth.
On May 1, it plans to commence daily nonstop flights between JFK and Los Angeles International Airport.
Frontier expects to achieve double-digit profit margins by mid-2025 and has raised its fourth-quarter outlook from breakeven to a 4% pretax margin. Its shares have increased by 17% since the beginning of the year.
