Aston Martin has appointed Adrian Hallmark, an experienced autos leader from Bentley, as its new chief executive officer.
The new role for the 61-year-old will begin on or before Oct. 1, with outgoing leader Amedeo Felisa continuing in his position until then.
Aston Martin Lagonda stated that he has over 25 years of successful senior automotive experience with companies such as Bentley, Porsche, and Volkswagen in the US, Europe, and Asia.
Bentley has experienced a substantial increase in profits and revenue under his leadership, despite facing challenges in the automotive industry, such as shifting sales trends in China.
Lawrence Stroll, Aston Martin Executive Chairman, stated that Hallmark's expertise in both the luxury and British manufacturing industries would aid in implementing our strategy and maintaining recent progress.
In May 2022, Aston Martin experienced another leadership change, with Felisa replacing Tobias Moers as CEO after only two years in the role. Despite recent heavy losses, the company's 2023 results show some improvement.
shares were up 1.8% at 9:15 a.m. in London.
Although the company experienced a rebound in 2023, its share price has significantly decreased since its public listing in 2018 due to supply chain disruptions, rising costs, and a substantial debt burden.
Valhalla, the first hybrid supercar from Aston Martin, will be launched by Hallmark, while the company also grapples with production issues for the new DB12 model and the ongoing struggle to manage the electric vehicle transition.
