A rooftop bar, patio, and other premium amenities are being added to a new American Express Centurion Lounge at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).

The Centurion Lounge proposed by American Express at Massport, the governing board of the Boston airport, was approved on January 16, as reported by Thrifty Traveler. Construction will begin in the spring of 2025, and the lounge is expected to open in 2027.

How to access Amex Centurion Lounges

To enter the Amex Centurion Lounge at Boston Logan Airport, you must have the right credit card, and the access rules differ based on the card you possess.

Centurion Lounge access is available with select American Express cards, including:

Centurion Lounge access is unlimited for American Express Platinum and Business Platinum cardholders up to three hours before their flight's departure. To enter the lounge, cardholders must present their credit card, a same-day boarding pass, and a government-issued I.D.

For guests, the cost is $50 per adult and $30 for children ages 2 to 17. Children under two are free with a qualifying parent who can show a "lap infant" boarding pass or proof of their child's age. Platinum cardholders who have spent $75,000 or more on their card in a calendar year get complimentary guest access for up to two guests per visit.

The complimentary guest visits are available for the rest of the current year and the entire following calendar year, ending on Jan. 31 of the year after that. Terms apply.

Delta Air Lines offers a special promotion for travelers with a Delta SkyMiles Reserve or Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business card. However, there are some additional restrictions. The traveler must be on a Delta-operated or marketed flight and have booked the flight with a U.S.-issued American Express card. Guests can also join the trip for $50 each ($30 for children ages 2 to 17). Terms apply.

What to expect at the BOS Centurion Lounge

The new Amex lounge in Boston will be a two-story, 20,000-square-foot space located in Terminal C, near gate C10. Although Amex has not publicly announced plans for the lounge yet, published reports suggest that it will be accessible to passengers flying with most airlines, as Terminals B, C and E are all connected airside.

The lounge will have a grass- and plant-covered "green roof," a rooftop bar and patio, a large circular bar, various seating areas designed for work and relaxation, and indoor and outdoor fireplaces.

The specifics of the food and beverage offerings at the new Amex Centurion Lounge in San Francisco have not been disclosed, but are expected to align with the lounge's other locations. Guests can expect locally-inspired dishes and craft cocktails that embody the signature Centurion Lounge experience.
