On Monday, unveiled redesigned versions of its entry-level GMC Terrain crossover, including a new standard "Elevation" model.

The compact crossover boasts a rugged exterior and a new interior with 26 inches of screens, including a 15-inch center touchscreen and an 11-inch driver information cluster.

The new standard safety and convenience features for the vehicle include adaptive cruise control, front heated seats, enhanced automatic emergency braking, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which replicate phone apps for navigation and music.

GM is simplifying the Terrain model lineup by combining its "SLE" and "SLT" entry-level trims into Elevation, a trim that is also used by the brand on other vehicles.

GMC will not reveal the pricing for the new Terrain, which is set to launch in showrooms later this year. The current starting prices for the Terrain range from approximately $30,000 to $40,000.

The AT4 and Denali models will follow the launch of the Elevation trim, with an off-road-inspired design.

GMC's non-truck nameplates, such as the compact crossover and large SUVs, including the GMC Hummer EVs, are among the bestselling.

Despite a 17% decline in sales of the Terrain in 2023, sales increased by 31% year over year through the first half of the year.
