DETROIT – is set to report second-quarter earnings after the markets close Wednesday.

Although the Detroit automaker's results are expected to be relatively healthy in the third quarter of 2023, they will not be as strong as its crosstown rival, which released earnings Tuesday.

According to average estimates compiled by LSEG, this is what Wall Street is anticipating.

  • Adjusted earnings per share: 68 cents
  • Automotive revenue: $44.02 billion

In the second quarter of the previous year, Ford reported $42.43 billion in revenue, $1.92 billion in net income, or 47 cents per share, and $3.79 billion in adjusted earnings before interest and taxes.

Ford's EBIT for the year is expected to range from $10 billion to $12 billion, with free cash flow of $6.5 billion to $7.5 billion.

The automotive industry has seen more resilient pricing than expected, resulting in a 15% increase in Ford's stock value this year.

As the transition to electric vehicles is happening more slowly than expected, the automaker has shifted its focus from all-electric vehicles to hybrids in its product plans.

Ford announced that it will increase production of its Super Duty trucks at a Canadian plant that was originally intended to be an electric vehicle hub.
