YouTube personality Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, arrives for the 36th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on March 4, 2023.

MrBeast, the internet sensation, recently compared his earnings from a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, to his typical earnings on YouTube.

In a Monday post on X, Donaldson revealed that his video, "1 vs $100,000,000 Car!," garnered over 150 million views in one week and resulted in earnings of more than $263,000. The video was initially posted on YouTube in September.

Although my first video generated over $250,000, it's important to note that advertisers bought ads on my video, which likely inflated my revenue per view. Therefore, your experience may differ.

In the video, Donaldson and his team explore various automobiles, including flying cars and amphibian cars. They also get to ride with Jay Leno.

Last year, X introduced its creator revenue share program, which allows creators to earn a portion of the ad revenue generated from their posts. Eligibility for the program is based on the number of users who view the creator's posts.

Elon Musk has stated that he intends to transform X into a versatile app with a primary emphasis on video content since acquiring Twitter in 2022. He has subsequently invited well-known media figures such as Tucker Carlson, Don Lemon, and Tulsi Gabbard to create original content for the platform.

Across all of his channels, more than 370 million subscribers make Donaldson the most popular individual on YouTube.

X shared the first MrBeast video posted directly on X with a quote post.

In December, Donaldson was encouraged by Musk to bring content to X. In response, he posted on X and hinted at an upcoming YouTube video.

Even though my video production costs millions and a billion views on X wouldn't cover a fraction of it, I'm open to exploring possibilities once monetization takes off.

Although his debut X video's reported revenue appears substantial, it is not a significant amount for MrBeast.

Last year, Forbes reported that Donaldson was the highest-earning creator of 2023, pulling in $54 million. Additionally, Puck's reporting indicates that he is close to finalizing a $100 million show deal.

The 150 million views on X may not have been entirely organic. Some users reported seeing the show multiple times as an unmarked advertisement. According to Donaldson on X, he believed the video was promoted by advertisers.

Donaldson is demonstrating that the creator economy on X has potential for earnings, as it aims to compete with YouTube and TikTok in the growing market of online influencers.
