Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of the company, will return as CEO after stepping down a little over a year ago, the company announced on Friday.

Bumble's current CEO, Lidiane Jones, has resigned for personal reasons. Jones previously served as the CEO of Salesforce's cloud-based messaging platform, Slack. She will continue to lead Bumble until Wolfe Herd takes over in mid-March.

Lidiane's transformative leadership at Bumble during a pivotal time has been instrumental in building a strong foundation for the future, and Wolfe Herd is deeply grateful for her efforts, as stated in a recent statement.

Bumble, founded in 2014 by Wolfe Herd, is a dating app that empowers women to initiate contact. The company went public in 2021 but its market cap has decreased from $7.7 billion to approximately $847 million.

The company announced on Friday that it anticipates reporting total revenue and Bumble App revenue above the midpoint of its forecasted revenue ranges for the fourth quarter, while also expecting adjusted EBITDA to fall within the previously disclosed range.

Shares of the company popped 6% in premarket trading on Friday.

Bumble announced that Ann Mather, a lead director at the company, will succeed the CEO and assume the role of chair of the board of directors.

Whitney, Bumble's passionate and engaged founder, is driving the company's vision as it accelerates the execution of its strategy, according to Mather.
