On Wednesday, the feature was rolled out to end the challenge of splitting the bill.

The company is introducing new group ordering features that will enable individuals to select their desired items and split the cost, preventing the person ordering from being responsible for the entire bill. Additionally, Uber Eats will establish timeframes for group orders and send automatic reminders to customers to place their orders.

Instead of having one person pay for the total cost of the order, the updated group order system allows for individual payment for each person's selection. A single link is sent out to the chosen group, and the food is delivered as a cohesive order. This differs from other apps where the group order still requires one person to cover the total cost.

As Covid-19 restrictions ease and cases go down, Uber's group ordering feature is gaining popularity among people returning to the office and socializing with friends again.

Uber's Eats segment has been a key revenue driver for the company during the pandemic, and it continues to be a strong player even as things return to normal. In its most recent earnings statement, Uber reported delivery revenue of $2.42 billion.
