The company's December quarter revenue exceeded analyst expectations, thanks to the ongoing surge in demand for AI technology.

The revenue of the world's largest chip manufacturer in the fourth quarter was 868.5 billion New Taiwan dollars ($26.3 billion), which is a 38.8% increase from the previous year, as calculated by CNBC.

That beat Refinitiv consensus estimates of 850.1 billion New Taiwan dollars.

Some of the world's largest companies, including Apple and Microsoft, have semiconductors manufactured by TSMC.
