On Sunday, TikTok became accessible to certain U.S. users following President-elect Donald Trump's statement that he would postpone signing an executive order to prohibit the app on Monday.

The company announced that it would restore access to its American users in a statement on X.

"TikTok is currently restoring its service, as per the agreement with its service providers. The company expressed gratitude to President Trump for providing clarity and assurance that service providers will not face penalties for providing TikTok to 170 million Americans and supporting 7 million small businesses."

The company stated that it will take a firm stance for the First Amendment and against unjustified censorship. Additionally, it announced that it will collaborate with President Trump to establish a long-term plan that ensures TikTok's continued presence in the United States.

Trump announced on Truth Social that he would issue an executive order on Monday to delay the ban's implementation.

Despite TikTok being shut down for American users on Saturday night and being removed from Apple and Google's app stores, some users were able to access the platform on Sunday using their desktops.
