Apple unveiled new versions of its 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air laptops featuring its latest M3 chip on Monday.
The M3 chip was first introduced in October, when Apple released versions of the chip for its iMac desktop computer and more powerful versions of the processor for its MacBook Pro laptops. Despite reporting $7.78 billion in Mac revenue during its fiscal first-quarter earnings report, which represented less than 1% growth, the latest computers may help boost the company's sales.
The new MacBook Airs feature improved webcams, faster Wi-Fi support, and up to 18 hours of battery life, while maintaining the same design as earlier models. The M3 chip enables users to connect two external displays, an upgrade from the single screen supported by previous chips.
The 13-inch MacBook Air costs $1,099, while the 15-inch version starts at $1,299. Both models will be available for purchase starting Monday, with in-store availability beginning March 8.
