On Thursday, Oura unveiled its new smart ring, the Oura Ring 4, which is priced at $349 and is now available for purchase.
The Oura Ring 4 features new sensors, a stylish appearance, and up to eight days of battery life, helping users monitor their sleep, exercise, stress, and heart health to make healthier choices.
Oura has developed a new "Smart Sensing" platform that utilizes an algorithm and advanced sensors to provide more precise readings for blood oxygen sensing, daytime and nighttime heart rate, and breathing disturbances.
The Oura Ring 4 has flat sensors, unlike the bumpy ones in the previous version, for a more comfortable wear.
The Oura Ring 4 is available in twelve sizes and six colors, including a new black finish. It will be available for preorder on Thursday and will begin shipping on Oct. 15.
The ring and membership come with a monthly fee of $5.99 or an annual fee of $69.99, with the first month being free. Users can utilize flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts to cover the cost.
A new look for the app
The company has unveiled a new design for its app, which is currently being rolled out to Oura members. The new layout organizes users' data into three tabs: Today, Vitals, and My Health.
The Today tab provides personalized information based on the time of day, including shortcuts for accessing data about sleep, activity, readiness, stress, heart rate, and menstrual cycles. Users can explore more detailed information in the Vitals tab and track long-term metrics like sleep trends, cardiovascular age, sleep trends, and stress resilience in the My Health tab.
Oura said new features are coming to the app as well.
Oura announced that while working out, users won't need to manually record their heart rate or workout type. They will also be able to monitor their daily activity and movement within their daytime stress data. This feature will enhance users' comprehension of how their behaviors and habits affect their stress levels.
Oura is introducing a new feature called fertile window to its reproductive health offerings. This feature will help users determine their chances of getting pregnant by providing an estimate of their fertile days, likelihood of conception, and detected day of ovulation. The fertile window will be rolled out in the coming months, and members can sign up to join the waitlist for early access.
The feature testing platform, Oura Labs, is now accessible on Android devices, having previously been exclusive to iPhones.
