Lyft has updated its office policies to be more flexible for workers who have become accustomed to remote work during the pandemic.
The company announced that most of its employees will have the option to work from the office, at home, or in a hybrid model, according to a blog post. Employees will have the freedom to choose where they live. Generally, employees will not require permission to relocate within the country, as stated by Lyft.
According to a filing, as of Sept. 30, 2021, Lyft had 4,369 employees.
The company announced that managers will maintain consistency in their teams through written norms that outline general expectations, team culture, and the frequency of in-person meetings.
"According to Lyft's President of Business Affairs, Kristin Sverchek, a flexible workplace fosters a balance between trust and choice, which helps attract and retain top talent while enabling employees to perform at their best," the post stated.
Lyft and a few other companies have announced their post-Covid office plans as cases decline nationwide. Lyft is inviting employees to return to work on April 11, while Uber aims for an April 4 comeback.
