The social media company experienced widespread outages starting at 9:57 a.m. PST, affecting its core apps and additional services such as Threads, WhatsApp, and Messenger, as reported by user-submitted data collected by Downdetector.

At 10:11 a.m. PST, over 100,000 Facebook users encountered issues, marking the highest point of the outages, according to Downdetector.

Meta acknowledged the outage via a post on X, stating that the company is "aware that a technical issue is preventing some users from accessing our apps."

The X post stated that they were working to restore normalcy as soon as possible and expressed their apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Instagram acknowledged the technical issue that is preventing some users from accessing the platform.

On the day of the Super Tuesday U.S. presidential primaries, Meta's various apps experienced a roughly two-hour outage in March 2024.
