announced Tuesday that company president Kristin Sverchek will be leaving on Aug. 20.

The ride-hailing service stated that Sverchek's departure is not due to any internal conflict within the company, its board of directors, or management, and is not related to Lyft's operations or policies. Sverchek will remain as a nonemployee advisor until November 30.

Since joining the company in 2012, Sverchek has held various positions, including general counsel and president of business affairs.

The rideshare industry rests upon the foundation that Sverchek helped pour, and Lyft CEO David Risher expressed gratitude to him in a release.

The company announced that Sverchek will receive severance benefits, including a $650,000 cash payment.

Lyft shares closed marginally higher on Tuesday.
