The new artificial intelligence features of Apple's iPhone and iPad software updates will not be released in October, according to a Bloomberg report released on Monday.
Due to concerns over stability and the need to test on a wider scale, the company separated the Apple Intelligence features from the initial iOS launch, according to the report.
Apple had previously announced that its AI features would be made available in a beta version this fall, with the expectation that they would boost sales of the new iPhone models. However, it has been revealed that these features will only function on iPhone 15 Pro models and above. Some of the promised Apple Intelligence features, including ChatGPT integration and Siri enhancements, are expected to be released at a later date.
Apple is set to provide developers with early access to Apple Intelligence in the upcoming iOS 18.1 beta, according to Bloomberg.
On June 10, the company unveiled Apple Intelligence, an AI feature that will be accessible on all Macs and iPads equipped with the M1 chip or later. This feature includes the ability to proofread writing, rewrite in a friendly or professional tone, create custom emojis, and transcribe phone calls.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
