Formula 1 calendar to include Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023.
The Las Vegas Strip will host Formula One racing next year.
The grand prix will take place on a Saturday evening in November, possibly coinciding with Thanksgiving, as the track passes by some of the city's renowned landmarks, hotels, and casinos.
The estimated top speed of the track design, which is 3.8 miles long from start to finish, is over 212 mph.
The race will consist of 50 laps, with three main straightaways and 14 corners, including a high-speed cornering sequence and a single chicane section.
Formula 1 has experienced significant growth, as evidenced by the addition of a third race in the US, according to Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of Formula 1.
The world-renowned Strip in Las Vegas is known for its excitement, hospitality, thrills, and the famous attractions that draw visitors from all corners of the globe.
We cannot wait to be in the global entertainment capital of the world next year for Formula 1 racing.
The third race in the U.S. will take place during the neon nights of Las Vegas, alongside the Miami and Texas Grands Prix.
In the 1980s, F1 grands prix were previously held in Vegas, but instead of the Strip, they occurred in the parking lot of the Caesars Palace hotel.
Domenicali informed Martin Brundle of Sky Sports F1 that Africa could potentially host races in the future, with the calendar expanding.
The current Concorde Agreement, which runs until 2025, allows 24 races per season, despite F1's record 23-race calendar this year.
The Kyalami circuit in South Africa, which was recently recommended by Lewis Hamilton to be reinstated in F1, last hosted a race in 1993 and has been considered as a potential venue.
Domenicali stated that there is potential for expansion to Africa, in addition to America and China.
Another area that is missing in our geography calendar's geography is where there is a lot of interest.
