Elon Musk endorsed Donald Trump on X after the former president was rushed off stage by secret service members following gunshots at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

"President Trump has my full endorsement and I wish for a speedy recovery," Musk stated on X, his owned platform.

The former president, Trump, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. His spokesperson stated that he would make a full recovery. Trump sustained injuries to his head and ear, which appeared to be bleeding.

Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, posted a photo of Trump giving a fist pump with the American flag in the background and secret service agents rushing to protect him. He also compared Trump to Theodore Roosevelt, who survived an assassination attempt while running for president in 1912.

Although Musk hadn't publicly supported Trump before Saturday's event, he had made it clear that he was against Biden's re-election. In a March post, Musk stated that he wouldn't contribute money to either presidential candidate.

Earlier this year, Musk met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach and stated at Tesla's 2024 annual shareholder meeting that he had "talked" with Trump. Additionally, Musk mentioned at that meeting that Trump "sometimes contacts him without any reason."

On Friday, it was reported by Bloomberg that Musk made a significant but undisclosed donation to the pro-Trump super PAC known as America PAC.

According to Forbes, Musk is estimated to have a net worth of approximately $250 billion, making him the wealthiest person in the world.
