Amazon's core retail business, commonly known as its stores division, includes various divisions such as its private label brands, Prime membership program, and consumables business.

"Amazon has made changes to its North America Stores team structure in order to better achieve its priorities. This includes eliminating a small number of roles, and the company is committed to supporting affected employees during their transition."

The fashion and fitness business, among others, experienced layoffs, according to a spokesperson. Earlier, Business Insider reported on the job cuts.

The majority of the job cuts occurred in 2022 and 2023, with smaller-scale cuts ongoing. These cuts have affected almost every business within Amazon's portfolio.
