  • The possibility of the Republican leader being reelected as President of the United States has been a major discussion point among political and business elites in Switzerland this week.
  • Although Trump faces numerous legal issues, several U.S. business leaders believe he has a chance to defeat President Biden if they run against each other in the 2024 election.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Alex Soros, the Open Society Foundations Chairman, stated on Friday that Donald Trump is already the president.

He remarked that it was a positive aspect since the Davos consensus is consistently incorrect.

The possibility of Trump, the current frontrunner for the Republican nomination, being reelected as President of the United States has been a major topic of discussion among political and business leaders in Switzerland this week.

Despite facing 91 felony counts in various criminal cases, including election fraud, mishandling of classified documents, and hush money payments, many U.S. business executives believe Trump will defeat President Joe Biden if they run against each other in the 2024 election.

The Republican Party is owned by Donald Trump, according to Soros. He predicts that even if Trump loses the upcoming election, he will still be the Republican candidate in 2028 and possibly 2032. This prediction has been met with laughter from the audience.

How can he escape? He will either end up in prison or in power, with no chance of relaxing on a beach and retiring.

Former UK PM Gordon Brown says he's worried about the 'threat' of a Trump presidency

Recent polls have shown Trump leading Biden in key swing states, but numbers published last week by Redfield & Wilton Strategies in partnership with The Telegraph indicate those leads are narrowing in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

Soros believes that the incumbent president has a "good map" and supports Biden in holding onto Arizona and Georgia, where he considers the "extremism" promoted by Trump and his allies as "toxic" to many voters.

According to Soros, son of billionaire philanthropist and Open Society Foundations founder George Soros, if Joe Biden wins Wisconsin, it will indicate that he has won Pennsylvania and Michigan, making Wisconsin a crucial state to observe in determining the outcome of the election.

Biden's advantage in a polarized electoral environment is that he is not polarizing.
