In his upcoming term, President-elect Donald Trump stated that the U.S. will become the world's top cryptocurrency leader.
Trump stated to CNBC's Jim Cramer at the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday that they will do something great with crypto because they do not want China or anyone else to have it, but others are embracing it, and they want to be ahead.
Trump's shift in stance towards the crypto industry is a positive change for digital currency investors, as the current administration has had a contentious relationship with the crypto businesses. One of Trump's campaign promises to the growing industry is the establishment of a national strategic bitcoin reserve or stockpile.
Trump rang the opening bell at the NYSE in recognition of being named Time magazine's "Person of the Year."
Last week, the stock price hovered just above the $100,000 milestone, but it was last little changed on Thursday.
