European stocks are predicted to rise on Wednesday, following the positive trend observed in global markets since the beginning of the week.

On Monday, as investors processed the first executive orders signed by newly-elected U.S. President Donald Trump, global stock markets rose.

Trump's broad memorandum directing federal agencies to assess unfair trade policies with foreign countries was seen as the reason for market gains. However, his failure to authorize new levies on his first day back in office was interpreted by investors as a sign that he may be less gung-ho about implementing tariffs than previously expected.

Last night, S&P 500 futures rose after the first trading session post-Inauguration Day ended with strong gains, while most Asia-Pacific markets also experienced growth overnight.

The potential effects of Trump's second term on the global economy and geopolitics were a major topic at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The annual forum coverage on CNBC continues, with António Guterres, secretary-general of the United Nations, scheduled to speak at 11:30 a.m. Davos time. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will follow at 3:45 p.m.

Mark Rutte, NATO head, Polish President Andrzej Duda, and Sanchez are among the CNBC guest highlights.

On Wednesday, CNBC will feature Dick Schoof, the Netherlands' prime minister, the United Arab Emirates' economy and trade ministers, Saudi Arabia's Finance Minister Mohammed Al Jadaan, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb as speakers.

EasyJet will release its latest earnings report on Wednesday, while there are no major data releases in Europe that day.
