The Reserve Bank of Australia maintained its benchmark interest rate at 4.35% for the eighth consecutive meeting, in accordance with the predictions of economists surveyed by Reuters.
While other central banks in advanced economies have seen inflation decrease since its peak in 2022, the Reserve Bank of Australia stated that underlying inflation remains too high.
The bank predicts that inflation will not reach the midpoint of its 2%-3% target until 2026.
