The Dow and S&P 500 index values are functioning once more after a one-hour halt.
On Thursday, there was a problem with the data feeds for key market averages, which led to a halt in the calculations of the and the for approximately an hour. Despite this, trading resumed normally and individual stock prices were not affected.
CNBC confirmed that there were issues with the calculations of two indexes on Thursday, causing the Dow and S&P 500 to freeze at about 10:41 a.m. ET before resuming shortly before noon.
During the pause, the futures markets for the S&P 500 and the Dow appeared to be functioning normally, despite any potential problems with data feeds for the indexes.
Additionally, it seemed that the index fund, a popular tool for investors to make broad market wagers, was actively trading.
