Tema ETFs CEO presents a bullish outlook for the U.S. manufacturing sector in the early stages of a boom.
One exchange-traded fund is betting on a U.S. manufacturing job resurgence.
The CEO and founder of Tema ETFs, Maurits Pot, is the creator of the American Reshoring ETF (RSHO), which concentrates on the industrials sector.
"Job creation, manufacturing, and reshoring are the main drivers of what some call deglobalization, according to Pot on CNBC's "ETF Edge."
The American Reshoring ETF, launched by Pot's firm in May 2023, has experienced a nearly 37% increase in value since its inception, as of Wednesday's close.
Although ETF Edge host Bob Pisani acknowledges the impressive performance of ETFs, he believes that ETFs based on a specific theme are prone to fluctuation.
Todd Sohn, a strategist at Strategas who specializes in tracking the ETF industry, believes that investing in U.S. manufacturing is a wise strategy. He highlights the potential for growth following a significant decrease in size over the past three decades.
"The managing director of the firm stated that they prefer to play the industrials in a thematic way by going active. They believe there is staying power in this approach compared to the fads they have seen in the thematic space, particularly those that are tech and growth-oriented."
Over the past three months, the ETF tracking the American Reshoring index has underperformed the broader market, experiencing a decline of over 4%.
