The number of mentions of the video game retailer on the Reddit forum reached 900 in the last seven days, surpassing the second-most referenced equity, the artificial intelligence darling, on Monday morning, according to Quiver Quantitative.
On Monday, GameStop was the most discussed equity on WallStreetBets, with over 600 mentions in the last 24 hours, while the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust had the second-most references with under 200.
On Monday, "Roaring Kitty," the individual who played a significant role in the GameStop stock frenzy in 2021, made a return to online discussions for the first time in almost three years. In a post on X, "Roaring Kitty," whose real name is Keith Gill, shared a photo of a video game player hunched over in his chair, indicating his dedication to the game.
Since 2021, it was his first post on Twitter, and it has received approximately 80,000 likes since it was posted around 8 p.m. ET on Sunday night.
