The majority of Asia-Pacific markets experienced an increase in value on Tuesday, following a mixed trading session on Wall Street. Investors are anticipating the Federal Reserve to initiate its monetary easing cycle.

Markets are divided on the size of the interest rate cut the Fed is expected to announce during its two-day policy meeting beginning Tuesday.

Investors will closely watch U.S. retail sales data to assess the health of consumers before the Fed's meeting.

Japan's slipped 0.22%, while the Topix was little changed.

The future of Hong Kong's stock market, represented by the HSI, was slightly higher at 17,425, compared to its last close of 17,422.12.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 0.55% overnight in the US, reaching a new record high of 41,622.08. The S&P 500 also rose by 0.13%, ending at 5,633.09. If its upward trend continues, the broad-based index may set another all-time high this week.

The tech stocks weighed down the stock market, causing it to lose 0.52% and finish at 17,592.13.
