On Monday, the premarket trading of shares of a pet food e-commerce retailer saw a rise after a Securities and Exchange Commission filing revealed that meme stock trader "Roaring Kitty" had invested in the company.
According to FactSet, Keith Gill owns a 6.6% stake in Chewy, making him the third-largest shareholder. With Friday's close, his stake is valued at over $245 million.
The stock was up more than 20% before the bell.
The SEC filing contained a section asking if the respondent is a cat, with an "x" next to the response "I am not a cat."
Last week, Chewy shares experienced a significant fluctuation following a social media post by Gill of a cartoon dog on platform X. On Thursday, shares surged by as much as 34%, but ended the day with a slight decline.
