Kate, the Princess of Wales, has disclosed that she has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

In a video statement released Friday, she stated that she had undergone major abdominal surgery in London in January, initially believing her condition to be noncancerous.

Despite the successful surgery, tests revealed cancer. My medical team advised preventive chemotherapy, and I am currently undergoing treatment.

"Of course, this came as a huge shock, and we have been working diligently to process and manage it privately for the sake of our family."

The BBC reported that Kensington Palace is confident that she will fully recover.

Kate emphasized the importance of focusing on self-care and healing in her speech, stating that she was improving daily. She requested privacy and space during her treatment, and the type and stage of her cancer were not disclosed.

Kate remained in the hospital after her surgery, with no confirmation of the specific procedure. The palace stated that Kate, 42, wished for her medical information to remain private. The palace also mentioned that Kate would not resume public duties until after Easter.

Since Christmas Day 2023, the princess had not been seen in public until she was spotted attending a church service with her family, including her children and husband Prince William.

Since news of her operation, there has been a social media frenzy about her condition and whereabouts, with the palace remaining silent on the matter.

The obsession over a picture of the former Kate Middleton reached its peak on Mother's Day, March 10 in the U.K., when news agencies pulled the image and issued a kill notice after discovering it had been heavily edited. Every detail of the image was closely examined, including Kate's hair, the children's clothing that appeared inconsistent, and a ledge in the background that seemed warped.

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, posted a statement on March 11 on Kensington Palace's social media account, admitting that she had edited a family photograph she shared the previous day. She apologized for any confusion caused and wished everyone a happy Mother's Day.

After the release of images and videos of what looked like Kate in British tabloid newspapers, there were further discussions about the conspiracy. Additionally, earlier this week, it was reported that a hospital staff member attempted to access Kate's files without permission.

In early February, King Charles III, my father-in-law, revealed that he had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer and had started treatment.
