Jerome Powell, the Federal Reserve Chairman, will deliver a speech at the National Association for Business Economics' annual conference in Washington, D.C. on Monday.
The Fed's first rate hike in over three years was followed by his remarks less than a week later, and the Fed also signaled last week that it anticipates raising rates at its remaining six meetings this year.
The central bank revised its predictions for U.S. inflation and economic growth in 2022.
The Fed stated that inflation remains high due to supply and demand imbalances resulting from the pandemic, higher energy costs, and broader price pressures.
