On Friday, Asia-Pacific markets opened with mixed results, following a broad rally that propelled Japan and Taiwan's stock benchmarks to new records the previous day.

Japan's futures data suggests that its record-breaking streak may continue, with the contract in Chicago at 40,925 and its counterpart in Osaka at 40,910, compared to the previous close of 40,913.65.

Household spending data from Japan and retail sales numbers from Singapore will also be evaluated by investors.

The S&P/ASX 200 futures for Australia were at 7,799, a slight decrease from its previous closing price of 7,831.

The HSI's last close was higher than Hong Kong futures, which were at 18,004.

In the U.S., markets were closed for Independence Day, but futures remained unchanged before the start of Friday's trading session.

Futures were trading marginally below the flatline, with a 0.1% decline.
