Bayer's shares rose in early trading after the company announced a legal victory in its lawsuit against allegations that Roundup weed killer exposure caused cancer.

On Thursday, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia ruled in favor of the company against plaintiff David Schaffner's claim that Bayer, which acquired Monsanto in 2018, violated state law by not adding a cancer warning to the Roundup label.
