ARK Invest believes that now is the "optimal time" to invest in advanced technology.
ARK Invest is betting big on private tech companies.
"According to CNBC's "ETF Edge," Brett Winton, the firm's chief futurist, stated that now is an excellent time to invest in innovation. Both venture capital investments and public innovation companies are currently undervalued, making them ideal for long-term investments."
In September 2022, Winton collaborated with the ARK Invest team to establish ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX), a limited partnership fund.
Investors can buy and sell private companies at their net asset value through closed-end interval funds, regardless of market fluctuations.
As of April 10, the largest private holdings of ARK Invest were Epic Games, SpaceX, Freenome, and Anthropic, according to the fund's website.
"Winton stated that interval funds were created to enable everyday investors to invest in less liquid assets without being an accredited investor, and they can do so at the net asset value."
Despite being up 29% since its inception date, the ARK Venture Fund is down more than 7% year to date as of Thursday's close.
