  • The actual revenue of 3.01 trillion Japanese yen ($20.5 billion) exceeded the expected revenue of 2.8 trillion yen by 200 billion yen, resulting in a 2% increase from the previous year.
  • The operating profit was 279.11 billion yen ($1.9 billion), which was 10% higher than the expected 275.35 billion yen.

In May, Sony reported a disappointing full-year 2023 for its PlayStation 5 sales, falling short of its target by 1 million units. The company recorded total unit sales of 20.8 million in the fiscal year 2023, below the 21 million units it had predicted.
