In 2020, Walmart, with over 4,600 physical stores nationwide, introduced its subscription program, Walmart+, to encourage customers to continue shopping with the retailer, similar to Amazon Prime.
Walmart+ members can choose between a monthly payment of $12.95 or an annual fee of $98, which grants them exclusive perks, deals, and benefits not available to regular Walmart shoppers.
Walmart+ offers several perks, including no-cost shipping and discounted gas.
Early access to deals and discounts
Walmart+ members have exclusive access to the chain's deals, including sales events like Black Friday and a deals page with rotating specials.
Free shipping and easy returns
Walmart+ subscribers receive free same-day grocery delivery on orders over $35, as well as complimentary next-day and two-day shipping on online purchases. Additionally, members can avoid waiting in line when shopping in-store by using the Walmart app for payment.
Instead of packaging and shipping a return, Walmart+ allows eligible members to have a delivery driver pick up the item from their home.
Paramount+ and Pluto TV
The Essential Plan, priced at $7.99 monthly, offers viewers access to over 40,000 movies and shows, in addition to NFL on CBS and UEFA Champions League games. Members receive this content at no extra cost.
Walmart+ subscribers can enjoy ad-free shows and movies on Pluto TV.
Cheaper prices at the gas station
Walmart+ members receive a 10 cent discount on every gallon of fuel they purchase at Exxon and Mobile gas stations, as well as 5 to 10 cents off of every gallon they buy at Walmart and Murphy's stations. The discounted gas is available at more than 14,000 stations around the country.
