Here's how to secure the ideal job during the 'Great Reshuffle', according to Deepak Chopra.
Considering leaving your job may seem enticing, but have you truly determined your alternative career path?
Last year, approximately 47 million Americans left their jobs or careers, either for new opportunities or to start their own businesses.
To avoid going from one unhappy situation to another, it's crucial to reflect on what you want, advised wellness expert Deepak Chopra, founder of The Chopra Foundation and a member of the CNBC Invest in You Financial Wellness Council.
He asserted that reflection and mindfulness provide all solutions.
This company offers its employees benefits and job security.
He posed the questions, "Who am I? What do I want? What is my deepest desire? What is my purpose? What are my skills? What am I grateful for?"
Sitting in stillness for those questions will bring the right answers, as well as the right opportunities.
According to LinkedIn's 2022 Global Talent Trends report, 63% of job-seekers prioritize work-life balance when choosing a new job, while 60% focus on compensation and benefits.
According to a survey by Workhuman, 54% of people feel mentally exhausted and drained after every workday, while 44% of respondents said they had trouble staying focused on the job. The poll, conducted by Workhuman IQ, polled 2,268 full-time workers in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Ireland from Nov. 12 to 14.
Chopra, who recently released his 92nd book, "Abundance: The Inner Path to Wealth," stated that many people are disillusioned and experiencing frustration, depression, stress, and inflammation.
“They’re actually getting sick from the stress.”
Before beginning a job search, consider what you are seeking in a job and an employer, he advised.
Skill sets and shared visions
Chopra advises asking yourself questions such as:
- Does the job fit my skills?
- Will my unique talents be respected?
- Will there be a shared vision?
When there is a shared vision, people are emotionally bonded and joyful, complimenting each other's strengths.
You can research which companies offer fair treatment to their employees and provide benefits such as paid time off, insurance, and retirement plans.
He suggested interviewing other employees in the business to gauge their opinions about the company. Additionally, one can examine company websites and career platforms such as Glassdoor and LinkedIn. The nonprofit website Just Capital, founded by Chopra, ranks public companies based on the concerns that Americans deem most important.
“A little bit of research is worth doing,” he said.
