Some U.S. companies already have a four-day workweek as part of their policies.
In the early days of the pandemic, addressing employee burnout was the initial motivation for Primary, an online retailer of children's clothing.
After giving workers Fridays off, the New-York based company observed an immediate change, with employees arriving at work on Monday feeling refreshed.
Galyn Bernard, Primary's co-founder and co-CEO, stated, "It is truly life-changing to know you have a day to catch up on everything, whether it's pondering a challenging work problem or scheduling a long-overdue doctor's appointment."
At Buffer, a New York-based social media company, 91% of its team reported being more content and productive with a four-day workweek.
After implementing a shortened week in 2020, Uncharted CEO Banks Benitez experienced a decrease in work stress and burnout.
He stated that numerous parts of the workweek are merely a waste of time.

The boost in employee morale also can help companies retain and attract employees.
The Wanderlust Group, an outdoor technology company, experienced a 800% increase in job applications from the previous year, CEO Mike Melillo announced. The company boasts a 98% retention rate and achieved a 61% year-over-year revenue growth in the previous year.
"We're achieving better outcomes than any previous year, as evidenced by the numbers," Melillo stated.
