The VIP package for the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul Netflix fight has been promoted, and the interest of bettors has increased.
- On July 20th, Mike Tyson will make a comeback to the ring and face off against Jake Paul in a Netflix-streamed boxing match.
- The fight is anticipated to be the most bet on match of the year, with fans already placing wagers.
- Promoters are offering a $2 million VIP package to the fight.
The upcoming boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul this summer has already generated high ticket prices and significant betting interest.
The July 20 bout at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where Tyson, a 58-year-old former heavyweight champion, will face off against Paul, a 27-year-old social media influencer turned boxer, is predicted to be the most heavily bet on boxing match of the year. Fans are already lining up for tickets to witness this highly anticipated event.
Tyson's upcoming fight will be a professional bout, consisting of 8 rounds, each lasting 2 minutes. Although he last fought in an exhibition match in 2020, his last professional fight was in 2005.
Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, both lightweight world champions, will face off in a boxing event at Madison Square Garden. The two have previously sold out the venue with their headline bout.
The event promotion company, Most Valuable Promotions, owned by Paul, announced that over 121,000 fans have signed up for presale access to the fight. Tickets will be officially on sale next Thursday.
MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian stated that the event is a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence that affects six generations.
Over 10,000 people have requested VIP seats, while more than 35,000 have expressed interest in sitting on the floor of the venue.
The promotion is offering a $2 million VIP package for the fight, which includes two ringside seats that have never been offered before in boxing.
The package will consist of four first-row floor seats, four second-row floor seats, a pre-fight locker room photo with both Paul and Tyson, gloves signed by both fighters, and two-night luxury penthouse accommodations at the hotel where the fighters will stay.
Bidarian stated that the aim is to revive the popularity of boxing on a massive scale, an endeavor that has been neglected for a long time.
Ringside seats for the event are currently priced at $8,067, while the cheapest tickets can be purchased for $357 on secondary market sites like Gametime.
The fight has garnered more gambling interest, with BetMGM already accepting bets on the bout. Despite Jake Paul being the current favorite at -145, 70% of the bets are going towards Tyson.
"According to Alex Rella, senior trader at BetMGM, this fight will attract a diverse audience, including Tyson supporters, Jake Paul detractors, and casual sports fans. He predicts that it will be the most bet-on boxing match of the year."
Netflix will make the fight available to all subscribers at no cost as the streaming giant continues its push into sports. The financial terms of the fight and what Netflix will receive from it have not been disclosed.
Tyson and Paul are expected to make eight figures, Bidarian said.
He stated that he hoped the event would become the most viewed streaming sports event in the U.S.
